5. Love Somebody

Morgan is looking for love in this track. “Love Somebody” is about wanting to find someone who cares about you and treats you right. Someone who wants to be with him for who he really is, not for his money or fame. He is struggling to find love currently, often meeting people and not feeling anything, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t ready to keep trying. The track gives off retro vibes and has subtle pop influences.

4. Lies Lies Lies

This song is about a breakup. Wallen is trying to convince himself that he’s not phased by this relationship ended, and his ex partner finding someone new. He is claiming he is okay, that she doesn’t even cross his mind anymore, but it isn’t the truth. The artist is simply lying to himself to get through the grief, and being dishonest to the people surrounding him so they don’t have to see the pain he is in. This track is relatable and open, like a lot of tracks on this album seem to be.

3. I Ain’t Coming Back

Morgan Wallen joins forces with Post Malone once again for this track. The duo teamed up previously for “I Had Some Help,” which ended up on Posty’s album titled “F-1 Trillion.” However, after the initial release of this single on April 18th, I noticed the stark difference between the two songs. “I Ain’t Coming Back” is a significantly slower, more stripped back song. It’s all about perception and the fine line between fantasy and reality. Morgan Wallen sings about the person people think they see versus the person he actually is.

2. What I Want

Honestly? I’m kind of obsessed with this song. “What I Want” brings heavy pop influences onto this album. With a heavy, faster paced beat meant for dancing and Tate McRae featuring, this song feels like it was meant to be on the pop charts. The track is about someone who has been hurt before, someone who has been guarding her heart after it’s been broken. Wallen wants to pursue things with this person, but she explains to him that he doesn’t want the baggage that comes with loving her. Morgan fights back though, saying he knows what he wants and that’s her.

1. I’m A Little Crazy

“I’m a little crazy, but the world’s insane.” This slow, stripped back song is very eye opening. With lyrics that make you think and an eerie but honest vibe, “I’m a Little Crazy” closes out the album on a very serious note. The track talks about abnormal things that people have to do in response to society and how it tuns. For example, keeping a loaded weapon by your bedside is crazy, but having to worry about someone breaking into your house is even crazier.

RGM RATING

(75%)

While I knew Morgan Wallen was dropping an album, I did not expect it to be another 2 hour long, 37 track project. “I’m The Problem” might be super long, but it is also very unique and stands out, and I appreciate the album for that.

The album blends pop and country, with some songs leaning more one way than the other. There are some songs that are fun and happy and make you want to spent time with your family, head to a bar with friends or cuddle up to a loved one. But there are other songs that are slower, sadder and more stripped back on the album, too. These songs cover things like breaking up and struggling with bad habits or with oneself. The album gets vulnerable in both positive and negative aspects.

Overall, I feel like this album is a good comeback album. The track list has something for every kind of country lover, and it may even have something for those of you who aren’t huge country music fans. Morgan Wallen did pretty good with this one.
